WALK BOOKLET RE-PRINTED (photo Dave Orr)

16 circular walks compiled by Taunton Deane Ramblers. 48 pages with sketch maps and line illustrations. To celebrate the splendid opportunities for walking in Somerset, Taunton Deane Ramblers have chosen sixteen of their favourite walks and published them in this attractively illustrated book.

The walks are circular and vary from four to fourteen miles in length. Walkers will discover the unique countryside of the Somerset Levels, scenic coastal walking at Kilve and Porlock Bay, the hidden combes of the Quantocks and the spectacular beauty of Exmoor. In compiling the book some fascinating corners of Somersetwere visited and readers will pick up interesting snippets of local history and legend and at the same time visit some special Somerset places such as Margery Fish’s garden, Gaulden Manor, the Timestones Monumenton Ham Hill, Tarr Steps, St George’s Towerand Montacute.

Food and drink are never far from a rambler's mind and the walks list some of the group’s favourite Somerset tearooms and pubs. The walk past Burrow Hill even includes the possibility of a visit to the cider farm with its famous cider brandy!

Initial publication is a resounding success and the first re-print is already taking place!

The group does not only have a talent for walking; the delicate line illustrations were drawn by Anne Sharp, a professional illustrator, and the sketch maps were produced by Jean German. For more information or to order copies contact:  01823 490201
